Box Shop @ Makers Unite
A community of local makers
This simple concept enables small local businesses to get their products onto the high street without the large overheads.
Makers Unite Box Shop consists of contemporary styled, ply display cubes of different sizes. These are rented to local creative people to show and sell their unique high quality goods for a fixed time period. Each cube is labelled with the name, location and website of the maker along with some background information.
As the shop is a curated space we are very selective about the goods on offer. Only 'Made in Britain' goods, that are produced to a high standard, will be considered. Once accepted, makers are responsible for their cube and style it as they wish.
How big are the boxes?
There are three sizes:
46 x 46 x 37 cm
46 x 100 x 37 cm (this can be horizontal or vertical)
100 x 100 x 37 cm
Why is Makers Unite different from other shops?
Goods are priced at the same level as the maker's website. This ensures the customer always pays the best price.
Customers can see and feel the goods, unlike on-line stores.
We do not take commission from the maker. The only costs to the maker is the affordable monthly rental fee for the box.
Each cube is a showcase for the maker. It gives information about the maker, how and where the goods are made and where you can find out more on-line.
